Realfio participates in CITEVE’s Sustainability Report for the Portuguese textile and clothing sector

Realfio is proud to be featured, for the third consecutive year, in the Sustainability Report of the Portuguese Textile and Clothing Sector (STV), an initiative promoted by CITEVE, under the BE@T – Sustainable Bioeconomy project, supported by the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

As the only representative in the industrial sewing thread sector, Realfio actively contributes to this annual reporting initiative, which brings together consolidated information from several national textile and clothing (STV) companies with the aim of providing a quantitative and qualitative overview of the Portuguese industry’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance (2024 marks the 6th year of sampling).

This report not only measures the impact of implemented practices, but also highlights concrete initiatives that drive sustainability, promote circularity, reduce carbon footprint and encourage technological innovation across the entire value chain.

“As a company with over 40 years of experience in the production of sewing threads, we believe that the future of the sector lies in rigorous measurement, inter-company collaboration, and the adoption of sustainable practices based on concrete data. Participation in this report is an integral part of our ESG strategy and our long-term vision.”

Our participation extends Realfio’s clear and tangible commitment to sustainability, transparency and continuous improvement in relation to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with which we are particularly focused on promoting quality education, decent work, gender equality, reducing inequalities and building more resilient communities. We, therefore, reinforce our role as an active agent in the transition towards a more responsible, resilient textile industry aligned with the principles of the bioeconomy.
